Step 1: Site Consultation and Design
Every project starts with an on-site visit. We assess your yard's slope, soil, drainage patterns, and available space, and talk through what sport(s) you want, your budget, and any design preferences (colors, multi-sport layouts, fencing). This is also when we identify any potential challenges — like tight equipment access or existing drainage issues — before they become surprises mid-project.
Step 2: Design Approval and Scheduling
We provide a detailed proposal with layout, materials, timeline, and pricing. Once approved, we schedule the project around Utah's weather patterns — generally favoring late spring through early fall for the most predictable cure times.
Step 3: Excavation and Grading
For new construction, this is where the real groundwork begins. We excavate to the appropriate depth, grade the site for proper drainage, and compact the sub-base — the single most important step for a court's long-term durability. Skipping or rushing this step is the number one cause of premature cracking.
Step 4: Base Installation (Asphalt or Concrete)
Depending on the base material chosen for your project, we install and cure the asphalt or concrete base, allowing full cure time before any surfacing work begins. This isn't a step we compress to save time — proper cure is what everything else depends on.
Step 5: Surface Preparation
The cured base is inspected, cleaned, and any minor imperfections are addressed before coating begins. This is also when we route and fill any cracks (for resurfacing projects) to prevent them from telegraphing through the new coating.
Step 6: Acrylic Resurfacing and Color Coats
Multiple coats of acrylic resurfacer build a smooth, durable, textured surface, followed by your chosen color coating — applied in layers for even coverage and long-term UV resistance.
Step 7: Line Painting
Precise, regulation-accurate lines are measured and painted for your chosen sport(s), using contrasting colors for multi-sport layouts.
Step 8: Final Details and Walkthrough
Nets, hoops, fencing, and any final hardware are installed. We walk the finished court with you, cover basic maintenance recommendations, and answer any questions before handing over the keys to your new court.
